Very delicious food, grilled on a beech wood fire in the fireplace in the guest room. Very friendly staff. Price / performance ratio is right. Gladly again.

We were there twice within 3 evenings, and only because we only got a table on the second! An absolutely successful concept. From the open grill to the fresh and regional ingredients to the original menu, everything fits together perfectly. The service is attentive without being intrusive, and the chef personally takes care of the grill and the guests. Keep up the good work, we will definitely come back next time in the area.

Be sure to reserve a table! We came spontaneously on a Wednesday evening and it was full as always. But managed to get a seat outside. Great service! Everything fresh and homemade.

We spent a nice evening here on the recommendation of a colleague for the first time. The service was super friendly and quick. The menu is originally designed as a newspaper and offers a well thought-out selection of dishes that has something for every taste, just like the wine list. Starters were delicious. The steaks were presented raw and the desired degree of cooking was asked. A short time later, the deliciously prepared dishes were standing in front of us on a traditional wooden plate, making our mouths water. Unfortunately, the nice meat juice with the herb butter ran off the board. The team may find somewhat larger wooden plates in the future, which will be able to accommodate the entire culinary splendor. We will be back definitely!

Excellent! 4 years ago we stumbled in here by chance because we had rented a house along the street. After 30 km of hiking on a rainy day, coming into this restaurant was like crawling home in front of mom's oven. Coincidentally, there was also a table for 2, right by the fireplace, where the meat is grilled. Splendid. The boss came and showed us the raw meat, which was then prepared before our eyes. Class! The plates are well portioned and the price reasonable, the premises nicely decorated and the staff super nice. Everything we have eaten here is awesome, from the soup in advance to our own creation of ice cream for dessert! Every year on holiday in Thuringia, we like to come back here, that's a must have! This year for the first time with offspring, who were also personally welcomed. (Of course, make another stone in the board with the parents;)) Keep up the good work dear ones, we're looking forward to September next year ❤

We were in the restaurant. Good service, delicious food, great value for money. Especially the grilled was spot on. Unfortunately a point deduction because you have to wait a little longer for food and order.

So if you don't give 5 stars here, I don't understand. From the ambience to the kitchen to the personal service by the boss, there is nothing to complain about. I've been there several times and still been pleasantly surprised. Please keep it up!

The highlight of our festive occasion on this day should be a great dinner. We came specially from Suhl had booked an overnight stay (stress-free and so) had spent a wonderful day in Frauenwald and were looking forward to the evening. I'll be brief now, the restaurant was full, the waitress probably overloaded. As a result, there were excessive waiting times. That applied to the main course as well as the starter and the drinks. My wife's main course was okay, but unfortunately my steak wasn't. When I got my food, my partner was almost done eating. The meat quality was at least questionable in the last quarter of the steak. One can of course argue that something like this can happen. In any case, we were pretty disappointed and dissatisfied with this outcome and the result. That's why I can't give 5 points.

Eating = sensational! Ambience = great! Hospitality = very, very friendly Nevertheless, a little tip: There should definitely be an alternative for beer and the chairs could be a little more comfortable. Still highly recommended!

Very committed house, the decor of the restaurant and the rooms are a good mix of traditional and modern. The owner Erik is very binding and attentive, the evening menu is above average. The food does what the menu promises. All in all highly recommended.

We stayed here for our short MTB vacation and that was the best decision of the vacation. The staff was always courteous and looked after our well-being, the food was excellent, the steaks were grilled by the chef in the middle of the restaurant. We were completely satisfied and will definitely be back.

The most delicious food in the area.

We are going to spend a week here. Have tested the skills of the chef on the grill several times and we are totally thrilled. Loin, Rostbrätel everything super delicious. (The beer also) 😋😋 Also at our accommodation there is nothing to moan, nicely decorated and clean. We will recommend the house Waldfrieden and definitely come back.

Delicious food. The map is clear. I like that. Down-to-earth and classic kitchen very well implemented. Highly recommended is the homemade ice cream. Nice and friendly staff. The wait was quite long during our visit. The price is reasonable.
